Egypt’s ITIDA, global IDC agree to boost IT investments
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the International Data Corporation (IDC) signed on Thursday three cooperation protocols to lure more direct investments in the information technology domain, according to News Egypt.
As per the first agreement, titled "Together to Africa", ITIDA will launch a special program aiming at helping local IT companies in Egypt to create cooperation opportunities in the African markets, Communications and Information Technology Minister Atef Helmi said during the signing ceremony.
The second agreement provides for organizing IDC's "North Africa and Levant CIO Forum in Cairo, the minister added.
The third agreement will allow ITIDA to benefit from the IDC's Industry Technology Advantage Program, a wide database that includes more than 5,000 reports covering IT markets.
The Minister expected that Egypt's IT exports to reach EGP 12.5 billion in 2014/2015.
